FactSet puts its data in Microsoft Azure’s cloud

FactSet launched a cloud-based data platform called Exploration. It helps financial professionals evaluate alternative and financial datasets and build investment applications in a Microsoft Azure environment. In addition, clients will be able to access content from FactSet’s data platform alongside programming tools like Python. A part of the appeal for investment firms is that having this access will reduce the costs of IT implementation and infrastructure to test data. Clients will also be able to explore and extrapolate datasets with inbuilt data visualization software to illustrate and communicate their findings to stakeholders.
