France approves blockchain for financial services

The French government announced it is positioning Paris as a pioneer in blockchain technologies, confirming its “choice of innovation in financial services” while guaranteeing financial stability, according to a translated statement from the Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire, released by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.

“The use of this technology will enable fintechs and other financial players to offer new solutions for title exchanges – faster, cheaper, more transparent and more secure solutions,” he said.

“Alongside green finance and crowdfunding, our aspiration is for blockchain solutions to become a new pillar of financial innovation in Paris,” he added.
