BNY launching triparty for Saudi Arabia securities finance in 2025

In an era of mature and often saturated securities finance markets, Saudi Arabia presents an opportunity for international market participants to find new revenue streams and untapped sources of inventory. However, it’s still developing and bringing infrastructure and legal frameworks to the level of more advanced markets is a work in progress. An efficient triparty infrastructure is a key component of this. We spoke with Gesa Johannsen, managing director and executive platform owner for the Global Collateral Platform at BNY, about plans to launch a triparty service for Saudi Arabia later in 2025 and the challenges the market must overcome to evolve.
