Collateral policy and fee splits as key choices for US pensions in securities lending

In their securities lending operations, US public pensions plans offer a massive pool of funding from some of the largest institutional investors. A group of 96 US pensions analyzed by Finadium in securities lending manages US$3.8 trillion, or 43% of US pensions as reported by the Federal Reserve. While the group as a whole exhibits common characteristics, it is important to recognize the variances in their policies and strategies as well.
