Does securities lending “promote” sustainable goals under Europe’s SFDR? (Premium)

The European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) went live on 10 March 2021 for Level One reporting, which doesn’t mean a lot yet but more is coming soon. A particular question in the regulation is what is meant by the word “promote”. Securities lending market participants would like to know, are they included? We review the arguments.
