Fed’s change to foreign repo pool raises questions (Premium)

As the Fed and repo industry face some hard choices ahead, a recent step taken by the New York Fed to boost reserves has flagged changes to foreign repo pool operations. We spoke with George Selgin, senior fellow and director of the Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives at the Cato Institute, about what these policy changes mean and why they matter.
