Finadium repo events in Paris and New York this fall – registration now live and FAQ

Finadium will host two major repo events this fall: Cleared Repo in Europe will take place September 17 in Paris and Rates & Repo North America on November 4 in New York. Agendas and registration are now live. We expect a diverse mix of dealers, hedge funds, cash providers, market infrastructure, regulators and vendors to attend.

Cleared Repo in Europe is a new event. LCH invited us to do it and we weren’t going to say no! Hosted in central Paris, this technically-oriented event will feature two workshops, a presentation or two and a panel. Our focus on Europe means European market participants. The diversity of regulations, products, and mandatory (US) vs. voluntary (everywhere else) clearing means that European firms are evaluating a range of new features, laws and functions for how they accomplish these tasks. This covers accounting, taxation, CCP rules, domestic law and of course, client preferences. As one repo dealer told us in March, “we NEED repo clearing to work for Europe.” This event aims to help.

Finadium subscribers get two free passes to this event. Tickets are available for purchase and our sponsors have some passes to distribute as well. Big thanks to LSEG Post Trade and BNY for sponsoring. We have one more sponsorship seat available – contact us if you are interested.

Rates & Repo North America returns to New York for what we expect will be another sell-out year. We’re planning for a slightly smaller audience in 2025 by increasing ticket prices for non-Finadium subscribers and capping the number of sponsors we will accept. We expect that fewer sponsors will also mean more focused panels and content. Similar to Paris, we’re leaning technical on the panels, which will cover: key topics in repo (SLR exemption, balance sheet, client pricing); middle and back office (pre-credit checks, post-trade efficiency, collateral optimization); and an update on repo clearing (documentation, what sponsors are telling clients, and how the agency clearing model is looking).

Finadium subscribers get two free passes to this event also, with tickets available for purchase and some free client passes for sponsors. Big thanks to BNY, JPM, Eurex, OSTTRA and Sunthay for committing to sponsor already. Similar to Paris, we still have some sponsor positions available but they are moving quickly.

FAQ

What makes Finadium events worth attending? Finadium leads with content, whether for our events, market intelligence work or consulting. We are market practitioners and think about our content the same way we would as consumers. Panels need to be as compelling for us as for our guests. Our intent is for attendees to leave with tangible upgrades to their knowledge base, skill sets and professional networks.

I’ve been in the markets for 20 years. Why should I attend? Finadium works to deliver leading information to market participants. We work with every panel and panelists on how their expertise can convey the right value to attendees even at the most senior level. If you’ve heard something at other conferences talking generally, we hope you won’t hear it at a Finadium event too (or at least not much).

I’m new to collateral. Should I attend? We love to see new entrants to the markets at our events. But we have to be honest: this isn’t the 101 introductory class. While you may not understand every detail, you will meet a lot of great people and get a better understanding of the ecosystem. If you’re a student and new hire and would like to attend free of charge, please reach out to us.

I’m not a Finadium subscriber, why do I have to buy a ticket? Most people attend Finadium conferences as a benefit of their subscription, which is our intent. A few other people receive sponsor invitations. If buying a ticket causes a problem, please reach out to become a Finadium subscriber.

Why the emphasis on technical education this fall? For repo clearing especially, we find that market participants already know the basics of models and timelines. The next step is gaining greater granularity on how clearing impacts the internal organization with an emphasis on the balance sheet. How to further grow client relationships is also critical. We aim to help in these particular areas.

We look forward to seeing you at a Finadium repo event this fall.
