In Europe, capping agency lending fees at 10% would be the wrong choice

Finadium has learned that European Commission and ESMA regulators are discussing the idea of capping agency securities lending fees at 10%, at least for UCITS funds. The driver is investor protection, but placing a cap on fees fails to recognize the value that agent lenders provide. The end result could push more firms out of the market.
