Industry warns FINRA on including derivatives in short sales reporting

Earlier this year, the US agency Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) released a proposal for new short selling reporting rules by US broker-dealers. Of the changes FINRA is considering, perhaps the biggest potential impact would be the inclusion of derivatives with physical short selling data in the public domain. We review some of the comments FINRA has received in reply.
