US stablecoin bill, the GENIUS Act, set to boost Trad-De-Fi interlinkages

The US Senate Banking Committee passed the GENIUS Stablecoin Act in March, a pivotal bill that brings clarity to a previously murky regulatory framework. The goal is to have a bill ready for President Trump’s signature over the summer. The GENIUS Act reflects a shift in mindset, creating a new legal category for stablecoins and a clear role in payments in the US. This will pave the way for an increase in stablecoin issuance and creates opportunities for traditional financial (TradFi) institutions, while creating new risks.
