It’s a tough time to be on the Basel Committee. The world’s financial regulators had to postpone a key meeting to finalize Basel III rules on bank capital requirements as a lack of agreement among major constituents meant that no quick resolutions were likely. We hate to say it, but it is unlikely that we’ve seen the last major disagreement at the Basel level.
