Since its introduction, Interest on Excess Reserves (IOER) has let Federal Reserve account holders earn spreads on the rates they pay institutions that can’t access this Fed rate directly. We look at the data to check the value of the IOER spread today and note a recent lawsuit that may change the rules of the game.
