Barbados CSD becomes 100th ANNA member, DRC central bank and India’s IFSC confirmed partners

The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) announced that Barbados Central Securities Depository has joined the ANNA as a full member. In addition to Barbados transitioning to full member, Banque Centrale du Congo and International Financial Services Centres (IFSC), India, were confirmed as partners.

ANNA’s membership continues to grow, with Barbados joining bringing the figure to 100 full members and 20 additional partners allocating ISIN, FISN and CFI codes for more than 200 jurisdictions. Currently, there are more than 85 million ISINs and related information available worldwide.

Dan Kuhnel, ANNA’s chair, said in a statement, “We are delighted to have held such a successful General Meeting, and the time we spend together as NNAs and as members of ANNA is invaluable to ensure that we continue to build on all the good work that we have achieved to date towards further interoperability in the global financial markets. This year has been extra special for us as we are celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of ANNA, so it is particularly wonderful to welcome Barbados, the Congo, and IFSC India who all joined our standards association community. We look forward to moving into the next phase of standards collaboration in 2023.”

ANNA’s general meeting was recently held in Guatemala. Janio Rosales, Guatemala’s minister of economy delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the importance of standards in transforming capital markets. There were also discussions on ANNAs strategy as well as on membership matters and reports from the ANNA working groups, as well as the status of ISO and ISO standards.
