SEC’s Peirce talks about “non-exclusive safe harbor” for tokens in Singapore

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) held a blockchain forum on the nexus of blockchain, financial markets, and emerging technologies. In a keynote speech, Hester Peirce, SEC commissioner, talked about building a “non-exclusive safe harbour” for the offer and sale of certain tokens, which would permit issuers to offer tokens under an alternative regime with robust requirements. Cross-border regulatory concerns were addressed by Peirce and other representatives from central banks and the financial services industry.
