The big impacts from Republican control of the US Federal government just keep coming. On Friday, Daniel Tarullo, Board Member of the Federal Reserve and a major figure in global financial regulation, announced his resignation effective this April, five years before the expiration of his term. His departure means that the Fed has lost a major and insightful voice even if we didn’t often agree with him. It also means that Republicans can appoint three new Fed Board governors.
