Dividend arbitrage makes headlines again, is this time different?

In what is sure to elicit a collective groan across the securities financing market, the latest dividend arbitrage scandal hit the news in early August as French tax authorities probe lenders with Paris trading floors over cum-cum transactions. We hear from Peter Szilagyi, professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School, about why these scandals are so persistent and keeping regulators on the backfoot.
