Investor Questions in Securities Finance: Analysis from the FISL Conferences
Finadium
June 2017
In April 2017, Finadium held its first Investors in Securities Lending (FISL) Conferences in New York and London. These events drew over 400 market participants to discuss important trends and business opportunities in securities lending and repo. While specifics differed between New York and London, a common theme was the desire of investors – pensions, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, insurance companies, hedge funds and corporations – to understand the fundamental dynamics of today’s fast changing market.
In this report, we analyze 176 attendee questions and data collected by Sli.do, an online application we used at the events, and commentary from 40 investors who completed our feedback survey. These new sources of data provide a unique perspective on what investors really want to know. Even if they have already asked their agent lenders or service providers, there remain ongoing concerns.
This report should be read by investors looking to understand the concerns of their peers, and by service providers looking to better connect with their clients and prospects. This report is part of Finadium’s Investor Focus series, serving the needs of the investment community.
This report is 14 pages with five exhibits.
