Regulation Asia: Taiwan Banks Likely to Replace LIBOR with SOFR

Taiwan’s Bankers Association will make a preliminary proposal next month on dealing with the retirement of LIBOR at end-2021, the FSC (Financial Supervisory Commission) has announced.

As many financial contracts are tied to LIBOR, Taiwanese banks will need to figure out how to make the adjustments without causing any controversy, FSC banking bureau deputy director-general Huang Kuang-hsi said at a news conference on Tuesday (25 February).
