Saudi central bank issues netting and collateral regulation

SAMA issued regulation that applies to netting agreements and related financial collateral arrangements in connection with one or more qualified financial contracts entered into with at least one party that falls under the central bank’s supervision.

Speaking at the Capital Market Forum in Riyadh, Yazeed Al-Nafjan, deputy governor for Financial Innovation at SAMA, called it a significant milestone in bringing the regulatory and investment environment in line with international standards and investor expectations.
