Wematch and Eurex team up for basket TRF workflow

Wematch.live announced the go-live of Basket Total Return Futures (bTRFs) on the Wematch platform. The launch, developed in close collaboration with Eurex creates a connected environment between Wematch’s TRS module and Eurex’s bTRFs, enabling traders to construct, price and manage synthetic equity baskets in a single, end-to-end workflow.

The bTRF workflow on Wematch brings together bilateral flexibility, exchange standardization and digital efficiency, giving clients the best of both worlds:

  • Unified workflow for TRS ↔ bTRF: manage baskets, pricing and execution within one interface
  • End-to-end automation: from basket creation and negotiation to low-touch crossing and synchronization with Eurex T7
  • Operational efficiency: optimization, matching and API tools streamline negotiation and reduce operational risk
  • Capital and margin benefits: exchange connectivity enhances portfolio margining and capital efficiency
  • Improved RWA treatment: Capital-efficient structure with clearer and more favorable RWA outcomes
  • Interoperability: a frictionless bridge between bilateral and cleared markets, aligned to Eurex’s clearing standards and market conventions
  • Wider counterparty reach: broader counterparty access, increasing liquidity and optionality

“Together, Eurex and Wematch are shaping the next evolution of synthetic financing,” said David Raccat, CRO and co-founder at Wematch, in a statement. “This connected, digital workflow allows clients to manage TRS and bTRFs seamlessly – one platform, one process, all products.”

Elena Marchidann, global product lead for Total Return Derivatives at Eurex, said in a statement: “Eurex cleared synthetic equity financing products (BTRFs) will be significantly enhanced with their incorporation into the Wematch ecosystem which is the market standard in lifecycle management and collateral optimization.”

Grégoire Froehlich, stock lending trader at Natixis, said in a statement: “We are looking for the Wematch.live bTRF solution to make the EUREX standardized model to be as smooth to monitor in post-trade as it is in their trading system. We expect massive bTRF books to be maintained with a low resource requirement.”
