The news that US interest rate futures traded negative for late 2020 and into 2021 is important, but that doesn’t mean that negative US interest rates are on the way. A veritable chorus of Fed officials has said this is a theoretical bad idea and Europe’s experience proves its a bad practical idea. It’s time to talk about yield curve control as a potential option.
