Analysis of the SEC’s proxy voting rule proposal for securities finance professionals

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) released a new proposal for proxy voting rules on September 29, 2021. More disclosure on how “securities lending activity impacted [funds’] voting” was included. While helpful for transparency, we don’t see much if any behavior change as a result. We review the full proposal and highlight areas of interest.
