Coinbase partnering with MUFG for Japan crypto exchange

Coinbase announced it will be launching in Japan, one of the largest markets by crypto trading volumes. The crypto exchange said it aim sto be the “easiest to use and most trusted exchange” in Japan that’s fully compliant with local regulations. To that end, there will be a partnership with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), one of the largest banks in Japan.

“Our partnership with MUFG will help millions of people in Japan access our platform quickly and begin trading on our exchange by offering MUFG Quick Deposit for all customers in Japan from day one,” Coinbase said in a blog.

Retail products are the first to launch for a suite of five top assets based on trading volume, with more assets and products expected in the coming months.

“We also plan to introduce more localized versions of globally popular services such as advanced trading, Coinbase for Institutions, and more in the future,” Coinbase wrote.
