Financial Advisor: UBS Wealth Management Issues Margin Calls on Clients with Russian Bonds Collateral

UBS wealth management clients who use Russian bonds as collateral are facing margin calls as the country’s debt gets marked down amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to news reports.

UBS is telling some clients to add cash or securities to their portfolios, and those who don’t meet the requirements may see their securities get liquidated at market value, people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified tell Bloomberg.
