ISLA incorporates ISLA Americas and announces first Board Directors

The International Securities Lending Association (ISLA), a leading industry trade association representing the common interests of securities lending and financing market participants across EMEA, is pleased to announce that, following the recent Extraordinary General Meeting where ISLA members voted overwhelmingly in favour of resolutions to support the expansion of its activities in the United States, ISLA Americas, has been successfully incorporated on 10 May 2024. We thank all of our members for their support in helping us achieve this important milestone.

At this juncture, we are also pleased to announce the first appointed Directors of the newly formed ISLA Americas’ Board.

Chaired by Mark Whipple, Global Head of Securities Lending, Invesco, the Officers and Directors will work with the ISLA Americas’ senior management team to deliver the aims and objectives of the affiliate entity, whilst ensuring alignment with the wider Association’s overall strategy.

The current list of confirmed Directors includes:

Ina Budh-Raja, Chair of the ISLA EMEA Board, commented: “I would like to welcome Mark and the US Board Members to the broader ISLA universe and congratulate them on their appointment to the inaugural ISLA Americas Board of Directors.
