New academic research on securities lending: haircuts for peer to peer; passive fund lending decisions

Academic literature in securities lending can generate interesting ideas but should also be watched for incorrect market assumptions that lead to faulty conclusions; we’ve seen both happen in equal amounts. Two new papers lean towards the former but warrant further attention for how their conclusions apply to the real world.
