DTCC hires Núñez for CISO role

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced that Yonesy Núñez has joined the firm as managing director and chief information security officer (CISO). Yonesy will lead Information Security and Technology Risk Management as the firm advances its technological modernization efforts.

He joins DTCC from Jack Henry & Associates where he served as CISO. Before that, he held positions in cyber and information security at Wells Fargo, Citi, and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Mike Sleightholme appointed president of Broadridge International

Broadridge Financial Solutions announced the appointment of Mike Sleightholme as president of Broadridge International. Sleightholme, who is based in London, will be responsible for delivering Broadridge’s customer support along with its rapidly growing portfolio of technology and data solutions throughout the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific regions – including solutions supporting the capital markets trade lifecycle, global governance and communications, and asset management.

Sleightholme first joined Broadridge in 2022 as President of its Asset Management Solutions business where he was responsible for driving growth, the strategic execution of client and market-focused solutions, and world-class service delivery.

He said in a statement: “Buy- and sell-side firms across Europe and Asia face their own unique set of technology and regulatory challenges, and I am eager to work with our talented team to provide clients with innovative technology solutions paired with local market expertise to transform their businesses and drive growth.”

Prior to joining Broadridge, Sleightholme spent five years at SS&C Technologies where he served as CEO and General Manager of its DST Systems business. He previously spent over 20 years at Citigroup in London, Hong Kong and New York, where he held a variety of senior leadership positions.

Northern Trust’s Lam to head Hong Kong

Northern Trust announced the appointment of Benze Lam as the head of Northern Trust’s Hong Kong entity, in a newly created position to foster greater innovation and global collaboration, continuing its commitment and momentum in the region.

Based in Hong Kong, Lam will retain his position as head of Asia, ex Japan for Northern Trust’s Asset Management business in the region, and report to John McCareins, head of Northern Trust Asset Management in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. He will assume overall management oversight responsibilities for Northern Trust’s Hong Kong office, leading business strategy, large client and regulatory relationships across the Asia region for Northern Trust Asset Management.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2014, Lam was the head of sales for China Offshore at UBS Global Asset Management where he was responsible for client relationship management across market segments in China for overseas investments. He has also held various roles in Fidelity, State Street and Morgan Stanley and has worked in Sydney, Singapore and Beijing.

McGlosson to step in as acting director of CFTC Whistleblower Office

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced the director of the Whistleblower Office Christopher Ehrman will step down from his role. Ehrman has led the Whistleblower Office since joining the agency in 2013.

“Whistleblower tips play a critical role in the Division’s ability to detect wrongdoing, hold wrongdoers accountable, and promote confidence in our markets,” said Ian McGinley, director of the Division of Enforcement, in a statement. “During Chris’ tenure, the number and quality of tips soared, benefitting the Enforcement program greatly.”

Upon Ehrman’s departure, the associate director of the Whistleblower Office, Christina McGlosson, will serve as acting director. McGlosson recently returned to the CFTC after nearly two years in the private sector. Before that, she served as the Associate Director of the Whistleblower Office from 2017 until 2021.

US Treasury announces Andrea Gacki as new director of FinCEN

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen announced the appointment of Andrea Gacki as the director of the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

Gacki presently serves as the Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the Treasury Department, where she has played a leading role in the United States Government’s implementation and enforcement of economic sanctions during critical national security challenges facing the United States. She also performed the functions of the Treasury Department’s under secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI), giving her deep experience and expertise on the unique role that TFI, including FinCEN, plays in combatting illicit finance threats.

Prior to her service as director of OFAC, Gacki served in multiple senior leadership roles at OFAC as well as serving as a trial attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division of the US Department of Justice (DOJ), where she litigated a range of matters implicating key TFI legal authorities.
