Should CCP default reserves be funded by debt or securitization?

Default reserve funding at CCPs remains an on-going topic of interest in collateralized funding and other centrally cleared markets. In recent years, regulators and others interested in the systemic risks occasioned by non-cleared and bilateral OTC transactions – both for the lack of transparency and for the variability in risk standards and capital requirements – have strongly favored the move to CCPs.
