Using machine-readable FT news to create trading strategies for US large-cap stocks

The rationale of using the Financial Times (FT) to trade financial markets is that it often publishes market-moving news and is focused on major events. It has also been a key publication for traders for many years and is complementary to other sources of events, which can often be more dense in content and more noisy, such as social media. FT Integrated Solutions makes a dataset available via API which consists of FT news in a machine-readable form. This is used as the basis for this research.
