The US Senate Finance Committee has suggested disbanding the Orderly Liquidation Authority (OLA), created as part of the Dodd-Frank Act in 2010. This follows the same suggestion in the Project 2025 “Mandate for Leadership” playbook. While there would be some benefits to the move, we wonder how many people remember what a disorderly liquidation looks like. It’s not pretty but there are other alternatives.
