HandelsZeitung: Google Cloud targets Swiss banks to send a signal

In a recent interview, Urs Hölzle, senior vice president for Technical Infrastructure at Google, explained why Google Cloud is targeting Swiss banks. He said via translation: “Banking is one of the most regulated areas. When banks relocate their data to the cloud, it sends a signal to companies in other sectors. One reason why we also publicly announce our projects with the British bank HSBC. Companies from other areas can see, ‘Wow, if this works for banks, it’s probably worth watching for me as well.'”
